FILING REQUIREMENTS

 

Power of Attorney (download); no notarization or legalization is required,

For device trademark, it is necessary to provide 2 black and white prints (max 8x8 cm); if the device trademark is in color, it is necessary to provide 2 color prints and 2 black and white prints (8x8 cm);

List of goods and services according to Nice Classification 9th edition (Classes 1-45)

Certified copy of priority application(s), if any;

Trademark Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette no. 53/10) is in force since the 1st of January, 2011.

Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks (1891, 1911, 1934, 1957, 1967, 1979.)

Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (1957, 1967, 1977, 1979.)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Eligible trademarks for protection: verbal, device, three-dimensional and other designations or their combination, certification marks, service marks.

 

Compulsory use of the registered trademark: Non-use during five-year period as of the publication date or as of the last date of use, may lead to cancellation.

 

Duration: Upon payment of ten years protection fees, the Trademark is valid for 10 years as from the application date. The Trademark can be extended for a further 10 years. The renewal fees can be paid during the last year of the previous ten year protection period or up to six months after the expiration date with a fine of 50% of the renewal fees.

 

Opposition: can be filed against the published Trademark Application within three months as from the date of publication.
